Elaine Irene Dincau

November 18, 1941 — November 25, 2013

Elaine Irene Dincau was called to join our Lord Jesus in Heaven on Monday, November 25th. There she joins her beloved husband and soul mate , Donald, in eternal peace. Elaine was born in 1941, to Walfred and Elma Joki. After residing in CA during the years of WW 2 and until 1950, she grew up in Duluth, MN where she graduated from Central HS as 1 of 5 Valedictorians. She then attended the University of MN, Duluth. Elaine married Donald Julius Dincau on November 24, 1962 in Duluth at Holy Cross Catholic Church. With Donald having a career in sales, they lived their lives in MN, MI, NB and finally MT...their 'last best place'. Elaine felt privileged to spend 28 years as a homemaker. She and Don worked together to raise their 4 children. During these years, she devoted her spare time to volunteer work with her church and with her children's schools. Elaine and Don were honored to be Eucharist Ministers at Holy Redeemer Parish in Jenison, MI for 11 years before moving to Montana. In 1990, Elaine began a very rewarding career as Office Manager for Dr. Larry Pendleton, DDS; in Bozeman. Larry & his wife, Alice, were not just employers but also wonderful friends. She really enjoyed her work, her co-workers, and especially all the patients through the years. Elaine retired in 2008, after spending that last year helping Dr. Allison Harper with the transition of the practice following Dr. Pendleton's retirement. She spent her final years enjoying the love and comfort of her children and grandchildren. She had the opportunity to attend quite a few games, programs, and even a few graduations in the last few years. Some of the most enjoyable moments of these last years was spent with her Thursday afternoon church group where she could discuss the bible with Father Leo and the other members of the group. Elaine is survived by her 4 children...Corissa Rankin (Dana) of Council Bluffs, IA; Michael Dincau (Penny) of Manistee, MI; Christina Sullivan (Michael) of Belgrade, MT; Andrew Dincau (Robyn) of Bozeman, MT; 11 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; sister Millie DeBolt (Dick) of Duluth, MN; brother Ron Mattson (Judy) of Kissimmee, FL; as well as many wonderful nieces and nephews. Elaine was preceded in death by her husband, Donald, on May 19, 2005; her parents, grandparents, sister Carolyn Lyngdal, sister-in-law Louise McNeil, brother-in-law Larry Dincau, nephew Ricky DeBolt and nephew Jerry McNeil. Funeral services will be held at Holy Rosary Catholic Church on Main Street in Bozeman, Montana at 10 am Friday, November 29th. Graveside services will follow with a luncheon sponsored by the Foresters afterwards. Anyone who would like to attend services is more than welcome. Flowers may be sent to Holy Rosary Catholic Church on Main Street in Bozeman, MT. Please feel free to post comments and memories of Elaine here on the website.
