Dianne Lynn Mcinnis

August 26, 1956 — November 3, 2013

Dianne Lynn McInnis made her transition from this life to the next step in her soul's journey on Sunday, November 3, 2013 in Bozeman. She was born on August 26, 1956 on the Royal Canadian Air Force Base in Baden Baden, Germany to David and Jean McInnis. Dianne lived in Canada until 1963, when the family moved to Wisconsin. She graduated from high school in Maywood, New Jersey, and then left home to explore the world, herself, and life. She lived in California, Hawaii and Edmonton, Alberta, before her spiritual path brought her to Montana. Dianne always was a nature girl, thoroughly enjoying camping, hiking and collecting rocks. Her connection to nature became the ground for her spiritual development, and she often took off in her van to search out beautiful places where she could simply be still in nature, absorbing the positive energy she found there. Her spiritual work included attending a 10-day silent Vipassana retreat, studying Buddhism, and participating in the Church Universal and Triumphant. Her dedication to her personal growth gave her great joy, as she grew in understanding, compassion and acceptance of herself and others. Dianne graduated from the massage therapy program at Health Works Institute in Bozeman in 2006, and she enjoyed several years of professional practice, working in Big Sky and other locations. Her emphasis was always on nurturing touch and using her knowledge and skills to provide comfort and ease on all levels. Children loved Dianne, because she was happy and creative, and she let children just be themselves. She also loved animals. Her cat, Maneeno, was a very vocal communicator, always letting Dianne know how much he loved her. Maneeno has found a wonderful new home with one of Dianne's friends in Bozeman. Dianne is survived by her father and step-mother, David and Susan McInnis of Saddle Brook, NJ, her brother Neil and nephew Graham of Boston, MA, her sister Valerie and niece Laurel and nephew Alex of Portland, OR, and her brother Clay and sister-in-law Anna and nephew Anthony of Butler, NJ, and many friends in Bozeman and across the country, including her best friend, Lara Desmarais. She was preceded in death by her mother, Jean McInnis. Cremation is taking place on November 6. Her ashes will be spread at the headwaters of the Missouri river. A Celebration of Life will be held at Unity Church, 1919 Fairway Drive in Bozeman, on Saturday, November 9th at 3:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Cancer Support Community, 102 South 11th Ave., Bozeman 59715. Condolences to the family may be sent to www.dahlcares.com.
