Destry Flint Morton

January 21, 1972 — March 10, 2016

Destry Flint Morton, 44, of Bozeman, passed away March 11, 2016. Born on January 21, 1972, he was the beloved son of Ronald and Cody Morton. Destry’s childhood was spent on 14th Street in Bozeman where he began building his many friendships and making memories that will live on with his family and friends. He attended Irving Elementary School, Wilson Middle School and Bozeman High School, graduating with honors in 1990. Destry was a gifted athlete and a

hard worker which earned him many accolades including all state in football and a state championship wrestling title at heavyweight.

After graduating high school, Destry continued his academic and football career at Carroll College in Helena MT. He earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration. He was the proud #51 ( linebacker) for the Fighting Saints, a loyal teammate and friend. While at Carroll he continued to make wonderful lifelong friends. He remained an avid (and passionate) football fan. Go Steelers! Destry married Kendy Carpenter in 2000, and lived in Helena where he was employed at BMC West. Together they had Destry’s two most important teammates in life, children Kendree and Peyton. They later divorced and Destry and the kids settled in Bozeman. At the time of his death, Destry was employed by Kenyon Noble Lumber. He leaves behind a caring group of friends and coworkers. Destry’s proudest accomplishment and the joy of his life were his two children, Kendree and Peyton. He was an attentive and loving father. He was extremely supportive in any of their pursuits, especially when it came to sports. On any given day he could be found observing one of their many practices or games, near or far, in football, softball, basketball, wrestling and volleyball. The three of them made a wonderful team, totally devoted to each other. His memory will burn brightest in his kids, who share his kind heart, his fierce determination, his intensity and his loyalty. They reciprocated his love with every ounce of their being.

Destry was preceded in death by his grandparents, Stacey and Phyllis Crosby and Sidney and Delores Morton. Destry is survived by his children, Kendree and Peyton Morton, his parents, Ronald and Cody Morton; his brother Jade (Lorielle) Morton of Lander, WY; his nieces Mason and Finley; his

aunts Toni (Matt) Donnelly and Marti (Mark) Klette and his uncle Bob (Lyn) Morton, all of Gallatin Gateway, MT. Destry held a special place in his heart for his many cousins and

extended family members.
