Derek William Calvin

Marine PFC Derek William Calvin, age 19, of Bozeman Montana, died unexpectedly, Thursday, April 10th, 2014 at home. He was born December 14, 1994 in Bozeman, MT., son of William A. Calvin and Monica Stewart. Derek graduated from Bozeman High School Class of 2013. He recently fulfilled a childhood dream of joining the United States Marine Corps in August 2013. He graduated Marine Corp Boot Camp located at Camp Pendleton, California on January 10, 2014. Derek loved the technical and mechanical fields and enjoyed working on cars, computers and anything broken. It was this passion that led him into the Marine Corps to specialize in mechanics. He also loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and golfing. Derek was a special person and was loved by everyone who knew him. Derek was preceded in death by paternal grandparents Frank and Mildred Calvin and maternal grandparents Edward and Irene Stankiewicz, and Aunt Frances Cranford. He is survived by his father, William A. Calvin, mother, Monica Stewart, step-father, Roger Stewart sister, Jessica M. Calvin, brother, Dustin A. Calvin and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
