Delone Nielson Evans #8220;Mrs. Mack#8221; Delone Nielson Evans passed away August 6, 2010, surrounded by her family. She was released from her earthly pain and joined her loved ones on the other side of the veil to continue her work. Delone was born June 26, 1936, in a log home in Deseret, Utah to John Ervin and Alta Cahoon Nielson. She was the youngest of six children. Her family moved to Richfield, UT, when she was young. Delone worked as a waitress and graduated from Richfield High School. She married her best friend, McRay Evans, on January 9, 1956, in the Manti Utah Temple. McRay and Delone have been together since they were neighborhood children. Her best friend was Gale, his sister, and she spent a lot of time with the Evans family. When they were first married, they went to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, to work on a dude ranch. After that they moved to Salt Lake City, UT, while McRay went to Beauty School. They set up shop for four years in Nephi, UT. To make a better living, they moved to Billings, MT, where he started teaching beauty school. In 1963, the family moved to Bozeman, MT to start Mr. Mack#8217;s Bozeman Beauty College. Eventually Delone went to beauty school so that she could help McRay. It has been a family business, with their three children also becoming cosmetology instructors. Delone has been an active and faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She fulfilled many callings in the Primary, Young Womens#8217; Program and on the Activities Committee. She also completed a calling as the Relief Society President. Delone has been kind and thoughtful to all of those around her and has been an influence to many. She and her family have enjoyed being in the outdoors, whether horseback riding, snowmobiling or motorcycling. McRay and Delone have motorcycled together to Alaska, Mexico and the Florida Keys. She also flew in the family airplane with Dad. Delone was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Cleon; brother, Irvin; and sister, Barbara. Delone leaves behind her husband of 54 years, McRay#8217; daughter, DeRae (Richard) Paget of West Bountiful, UT; son, Max N. Evans of Bozeman; son, Bud M. (Kathleen) Evans of Payson, AZ; sister, May Lou (Lee) Gardner of Las Vegas, NV; sister, Rae Lee of Salt Lake City; eleven grandchildren (Jenny, Heidi, Miranda, Adam, Alex, Dean, Abram, Steven, Ashley, Megan, and John) and six great-grandchildren (Nathan, Bree, Alli Delone, Jefferson, Benjamin, and Joseph). Her family wishes to thank Rocky Mountain Hospice for their loving care, especially Chris and Shaun. They made it possible for us to care for Mom at home. Visitation will take place from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Dahl Funeral Chapel on Friday, August 13, 2010. There will also be a visitation from 2:00 pm to 2:45 pm on Saturday, August 14, 2010 in the Relief Society Room at the LDS Stake Center, with a funeral service to follow at 3:00 pm at the Stake Center. Interment will follow services at Sunset Hills Cemetery.
