Danny Lynn Kerns

December 18, 1955 — August 5, 2013

Danny Lynn Kerns, youngest child to Virginia and Orville Kerns, was born December 18, 1955 and raised in Hemple, Missouri. He graduated from East Buchanan C-1 High School. Early Monday morning of August 5, 2013 Danny passed on to His Eternal Home. Danny enjoyed working with his hands and heart. He helped his parents with the up-keep of the family farm. He later worked for his family in Kerns Home Building. He also started his own lawn care business with his mother’s help and assistance. In June of 1994, Danny wrote his special friend and dear companion, Eileen May, who lived in Billings, Montana after finding her in the Christian Pen Pal section of the Farmer’s Almanac. Exchanging letters and phone calls, they met in person the following month when Eileen and her mother traveled to Missouri to meet Dan and his parents. Two weeks later Dan sent Eileen an engagement ring. She responded with “Yes! I do!”. In September, Dan traveled with his parents to Montana and spent more quality time with Eileen, only growing closer in love. In October, Eileen packed up her car and moved to Missouri in preparation of their first home on the family farm and their marriage. In December they were married one day before his birthday. In October of 2001, Danny and Eileen moved back to Belgrade, Montana and later on to their home in Bozeman, Montana. Danny worked with Eileen at Walmart in Bozeman and later he was employed at Safeway where he was known for his helpful assistance and generous smile. Danny will be dearly missed by all he met. Danny is survived by: his wife Eileen; siblings Wayne (Betty) Kerns, Judy Fields, Nancy (Buddy) Hoffman, and David (Enola) Kerns; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, August 15 at the Evangelical Free Church in Bozeman.
