Cherie Schreiber

March 22, 1944 — January 5, 2011

On January 5, 2011, Cherie Anne Donnes Schreiber, left this world after a lengthy illness. She was born Cherie Ann Donnes, March 22, 1944 to Tony and Agnes (Krognes) Donnes. She spent her younger years on the family ranch in Luther, and also Billings,Mt. Her childhood was full of great times working on the ranch, performing in recitals for piano and clarinet, and most of all dancing. She attended MSU where she was a member of the Chi Omega sorority, and made many lifelong friendships. In November of 1966 while living in Bozeman, she met and married Michael W. Boylan, Cherie and Mike had two children together, Lisa and Zade Boylan, whom she adored. Mike and Cherie later divorced. In 1982, Cherie met and married William Schreiber and, although a short lived union, it proved to be a lifetime of material for Cherie's many stories and jokes. Cherie loved watching her children grow up, and was a second mother to many of their friends. Cherie loved her family and friends and kept them entertained for years with her caustic wit and stories. Her strength and grace will be remembered by everyone she encountered. Cherie is survived by her daughter, Lisa Boylan and son, Zade Boylan, as well as the absolute joy in her life...her beautiful, talented granddaughter Aurora Boylan. We see Cherie's intelligence and grace in Aurora daily. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and many, many adopted kids and family members. Thank you to all of our Mother's wonderful friends and caretakers, and special thanks to Sharon Simonson, Mary Jo Ludwig and Bonnie Gower who were such a blessing to her. Thank you to everyone at the Gallatin Valley Rest Home for your care and comfort provided, many of you became very special people in her life. Thanks also to Hospice of Southwest Montana, a very special group of people. Although our Mom is no longer with us, she left all of us with a great legacy of strength, tolerance and humor.
