Carol A. Empie, 68, of Bozeman, MT passed away on November 24th, 2013. Carol was surrounded by her daughter and family at the time of her peaceful passing. She is survived by: her daughter Lesley (Rick) Wallace; two grandchildren Avery and Chanel; two brothers David (Sonia) Meccage and Dennis Meccage; and three sisters Donna (Gary) Napton, Nancy Eagon, Sheila Meccage. She was preceded in death by her brother, John Meccage. At the request of Carol there will be no funeral service. Carol was born September 9, 1945 in Baker, MT to John and Mary Alice Meccage. Carol had many fond memories of her time at the Meccage Family ranch. Carol married Robert Lees Empie in the 60's and moved to San Francisco. 'If you’re going to San Francisco be sure to wear some flowers in your hair' was a song that encapsulated the mood. Carol moved back to MT with her daughter in 1978. She loved Bozeman and it's mountains, people and freedom. She began a unique career in housepainting (finishing) that fulfilled her greatly. Carol had many beloved friends and clients in the construction field. She was known for her quality wood finishes, intelligence and fun at the workplace. Carol had a mind that needed stimulation. She was an expert crossword puzzle solver, Jeopardy viewer, and voracious reader. Her intelligence was remarkable and genius. Her devotion to family and friends was evident. She loved to garden, cook and spend time with loved ones. Carol was the person you called if you needed support and laughter. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. Carol will be sorely missed. The world is a little bit better of a place because she was here. Her legacy of love will live on in the hearts of family and friends.
