Bernice Gilman

May 17, 1915 — January 28, 2010

On January 28, 2010, while she slept, the Angels came to Spring Meadows Assisted Living and guided Bernice (Bea) Gilman to Heaven to meet her Lord Jesus Christ. She was 94. Bea was born on May 17, 1915 to Isaac Hagel and Emma Alice (Trober) Fancher, in Blair Township, Clay County, Illinois. She spent her childhood and early adult life on the family farm. In 1936 she married her sweetheart Forrest Wilson and they started their own farm. They had 2 children and lived there until 1941 at which time they moved West. They lived and worked on ranches in North Dakota and Montana, and during that time had two more children. In 1946 they bought a farm at Lambert, MT where they lived until 1949 when they moved to Big Timber, MT because of Forrest#8217;s health. In 1951 they moved to Bozeman, MT where Bea worked as a waitress, and Forrest worked as a logger. Forrest passed away in 1973. Bea moved farther West to Seattle where she met and married John Gilman. After John#8217;s death Bea returned to the Gallatin Valley in 1989 where she lived until her death. She was proceeded in death by her parents, brothers Loren and Harold, husbands Forrest Wilson and John Gilman, son Robert Wilson and daughter Linda (Lyle) Jordan. She is survived by her daughter Norma (Ken) Peters of Marysville WA, son Bill (Sherry) Wilson of Three Forks MT, beloved son in law Lyle Jordan of Maudlow MT, nine grand children, ten great grand children, and two great great grandchildren. Bea will be greatly missed. At her request there will be no services. Cremation has taken place. A family memorial and interment will take place at Lambert Community Cemetery, Lambert, MT at a later date. Bea#8217;s family would like to take this time to thank Bozeman Deaconess Hospice, and Spring Meadows Assisted Living for all the loving care she was given in her last years. Donations in her memory may be made to Bozeman Deaconess Hospice, 931 Highland Blvd, Ste. 3200, Bozeman, MT 59715.
