Ben Hill Slothower Jr.

January 3, 1925 — October 7, 2007

BEN HILL SLOTHOWER, SR. Ben Hill Slothower, Sr. of Bozeman, Montana passed away peacefully on Oct. 7, 2007 in his home at the age of 82. He was born in California, moved with his family to Colorado Springs Colorado, where he graduated from high school. His college studies at the Colorado School of Mines was interrupted by the call of duty to our country when he joined the 15th Air Force as an Arial Navigator. He returned from active service to marry Patty-Rae Esmiol, to whom he was married for 62 years. He received degrees from both the Colorado School of Mines and Stanford Univ. Business School. He enjoyed a full and rewarding career as a mining engineer at Kennicott Copper Corp. in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was a board member of the Holly Sugar Corp.for 20 years in Colorado Springs, enabling him to maintain his close relationships with so many friends and family members there. After living for 23 years in Salt Lake City he and his wife moved to Montana where he was a partner in a private mining consulting business. He loved the outdoors, was an avid duck hunter, and a long time member of Ducks Unlimited. He enjoyed time on the river, boating, pickniking, and spending time at the family#8217;s cabin. His thirst for knowledge led him to be an avid reader even to the very end, allowing him an informed perspective on the world around him. His wonderful sense of humor added a dimension to his life that those who knew him will not forget. He will be greatly missed. In honoring his wishes, there will be no services.
