April Fawn Purdy Prentice

July 6, 1979 — November 1, 2022

April Fawn Purdy Prentice, 43, loving mother of three, passed away November 1, 2022. She is survived by her children, Heaven Reel (24) and Destiny Reel (22), her “Gam” daughters Alma Ramirez (6), Keyana Reel (5), Lillith Coon and her partner Jimmy Thomas. She is now reunited with her son Dakota Thompson.

April was born July 6, 1979 in Sacramento, California. She was passionate about spending time with the family making art, and spending more time in the kitchen, especially with her grandbabies. Some of the favorite dishes she prepared were cabbage burgers, pastelitos, eggplant parm or really any dessert.

April dedicated a lot of time to her medical school; first graduating from Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts, which she was very proud of! There were many days she’d be about her schooling and chefing it up when all the neighbors would come searching for plates or samples due to the aromas in the air.

She was a woman of many talents, and she had a very big heart. She cared for so many and took anyone in, including Ivy Ladd (18), who was like another daughter, as well as several other kiddos.

Through her children’s childhood she spoiled them as much as she possibly could. Her job was a full time mom taking care of three crazy monkeys falling off the bed. Even on stormy days, there was always fun around the corner.

April will be greatly missed. She was a wonderful woman who is so loved and it would mean a lot to celebrate her life instead of mourn; maybe bake a dessert in memory of her.
