Richard Stout

March 9, 1960 — April 1, 2017

Richard Smith Stout (57), of Ennis Montana, our loving husband, son, father, uncle, granddad, brother, and friend passed away unexpectedly from Metastic Endocrine Cancer on April 1, 2017.

Rick was born in Pasadena, California, on March 9, 1960 to Carlyle F. and Suzanne Stout. Rick moved from California to Bloomington, Utah where he grew up and graduated from Dixie High School. He met and married his soul mate and best friend Cindi Tebbs. He attended Dixie College, and later graduated with a Philosophy and Business degree from Utah State University and was employed by Bournes, and later ran his own company, Energy Alternatives.

Rick had a kind heart that gave him the ability to reach out and love all people in a genuine way. Rick loved music. He will be remembered for wrapping a bandana around his head and rocking out to the tunes of Ozzy Ozbourne, Pink Floyd, and Uriah Heep, just to name a few. He loved all animals, especially horses and cats. He loved the outdoors and relocated from Kaysville, Utah to Ennis, Montana where he lived off the grid and spent his days educating people about alternative energy. He loved fly fishing, classic rock, talking on the phone to friends and family, and playing cards and board games. Rick had a way of making everyone feel like close family, whether they were related by blood or not. He was kind to everyone and had a heart that was absolutely polished, polished to a level that most people will never see in this life.

Preceded in death by his father, Dr. Carlyle F. Stout, and sister Peggy Stout. Survived by his beloved wife, Cynthia Tebbs, his mother Suzanne Smith Stout, his siblings Carlyle (Barbara) Stout, Bill (Toni) Sickler, John (Barbara) Sickler, Ann (Craig) Cadwalader, and James (Annetta) Stout, his children Chaunette (David) Marsh, Chellie Stout, Stephanie Stout, and Joshua (Abby) Stout, along with his grandchildren Ryker Salazar, Amelia and Mikayla Marsh, Jaxon and Scarlet Binch, and Walker and Brooks Stout.

A celebration of his life will be held Thursday, April 6 at Banditos in Ennis, Montana from 5-7 PM. All friends and family are invited to attend.
