Henry Ellis Bookout

Our beloved patriarch, Henry Ellis Bookout, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2018, of natural causes.



Born August 21, 1931, to Calvin Henry Bookout and Mertie Edna Reed (Myrtie Bookout Atkinson) in Barney, Alabama, Henry served twenty-two years in the Air Force as a comptroller. He also served as an auditor for the State of Alabama until retirement.

He is preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Janice Ann; sisters, Juanita Sue Smith and Helen Bookout Watkins; and his wife, Sarah Nell Litsey (Lightsey) Bookout.

He is survived by his daughter, Marilyn Sue (Jim) Hamilton; granddaughters, Erin (Wyatt) Larson and Katrina Noel Hamilton; great grandchildren, Keilan Segi, Carmen Larson, and Nolan Thompson; as well as extended family, Randy (June) Bookout, Calvin C. (Brandie) Bookout and Kristopher L. (Deana) Bookout.



The family would like to thank the staff of the Bozeman Lodge and Home Instead for their long-term care and support.



Services will be held at the Bozeman Lodge on Saturday, April 7, 2018, at 3:00 p.m. and at White Chapel Funeral Home in Montgomery, Alabama, at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, April 20, 2018.
